Braveheart and weak knees

Even though I don't have a head for heights (or it would seem legs for climbing) I agreed to visit Wallace's Monument, home of Braveheart (not Mel Gibson).

The tight spiral ancient stone staircase and the 342 steps left me feeling a bit out of breath and with jelly legs, but the stained glass windows in one of the chambers make it all worth while.

The images are spectacular. If you ever get a chance to visit you won't be disappointed.  Just remember to bring your camera.  Oh and wear flat shoes!

  1. Hi ya Haldis,

I love your stain glass window images. 342 steps sounds like a pretty good work, shame you have to come back down them. I will be back have a great weekend. Janet
